  • 1 head Napa cabbage or regular green cabbage - Cut into 2-inch pieces
  • 2 tbsp oil Vegetable oil or sesame oil - For stir-frying
  • 3 cloves Fresh garlic - Minced
  • 1 inch piece Fresh ginger root - Minced
  • 3 stalks Green onions - Sliced
  • 2 tbsp Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp Sugar - Pinch
  • ½ tsp Red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 tbsp Sesame seeds - For garnish

  • 1 Large wok or skillet (For stir-frying cabbage)
  • 1 Sharp knife (For slicing cabbage and vegetables)
  • 1 Cutting board (For chopping ingredients)
  • 1 Wooden spoon or spatula (For stirring the cabbage)
  • 2-3 Small prep bowls (For measuring sauces and spices)

Method
 

  1. Wash and dry the cabbage, cut into 2-inch pieces, mince garlic and ginger, slice green onions, and have sauces ready.

  2. Heat wok over high heat, add oil, toss in garlic, ginger, and green onion whites. Stir for 30 seconds until fragrant.

  3. Add cabbage in batches, stir constantly for 3-4 minutes, until tender yet crisp, and add soy sauce and rice vinegar.
