Ingredients
  

  • 2 Flour tortillas - Use medium or large size
  • 1 cup Shredded cheese - Cheddar Monterey Jack, or any mix you like
  • 1 teaspoon Oil or butter - For the pan; use more if not using non-stick
  • Optional add-ins - Onions peppers, cooked chicken, jalapeños etc.

Equipment

  • 1 Non-stick pan (Or any pan that heats evenly)
  • 1 Spatula (For flipping)
  • 1 Knife (Or pizza cutter for slicing)
  • 1 Plate (For serving)

Method
 

  1. Heat the pan with oil or butter on medium heat
    Stack of fresh flour tortillas on a wooden board with bowls of chopped vegetables and shredded cheese in the background.
  2. Place tortilla in pan and add cheese and fillings
    Nonstick pan with melted butter or oil bubbling, prepared for cooking tortillas.
  3. Let the bottom cook until golden and cheese starts melting
    Tortilla in a pan topped generously with shredded cheese, ready to be folded and cooked into a quesadilla.
  4. Flip it gently and cook the other side until golden
    Crispy cheese quesadilla in a skillet, cut into four triangular pieces with melted cheese inside.
  5. Remove from pan, let rest briefly, then slice and serve
