Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups Corn - Fresh frozen (thawed), or canned (drained)
  • ½ cup Heavy cream _ Can sub coconut cream or half-and-half
  • 2 tablespoon Butter _ Or vegan butter/olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar _ Adjust to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Salt _ To taste
  • ¼ teaspoon Black pepper _ Freshly ground
  • 1 tablespoon Flour _ For thickening or cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoon Milk _ For flour mixture
  • 2 oz Cream cheese _ Optional adds richness
  • ¼ teaspoon Garlic powder _ Optional
  • Fresh chives _ Optional garnish
  • Paprika _ For color before serving

Equipment

  • 1 Large skillet (Heavy-bottomed works best)
  • 1 Wooden spoon (For stirring and scraping)
  • 1 Small bowl (For flour–milk mixture)
  • 1 set Measuring cups (For liquids and dry ingredients)
  • 1 set Measuring spoons (For salt, pepper, seasonings)

Method
 

  1. Drain corn well, measure ingredients, mix flour and milk until smooth, and heat skillet over medium.

  2. Melt butter, cook corn 2–3 minutes until bright, then season with salt, pepper, and sugar.

  3. Pour in heavy cream, simmer gently 3–4 minutes, stir in cream cheese if using, add seasonings.

  4. Add flour–milk mixture, cook 2–3 minutes while stirring until sauce lightly coats spoon.
