  • 1 lb Ground beef - Raw; no need to brown
  • 1 can Kidney beans - Undrained
  • 1 can Black beans - Undrained
  • 1 can Diced tomatoes - With juice
  • 1 can Tomato sauce - 15 oz can
  • 1 Onion - Chopped or halved
  • 2 cloves Garlic - Minced or smashed
  • 1 cup Beef broth - Or sub ½ cup broth + ½ cup beer
  • 2 tablespoon Chili powder - Adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika - Smoked or sweet
  • 1 teaspoon Salt - To taste
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon Cayenne pepper - Optional for heat
  • Optional Bell pepper - Diced
  • Optional Corn - Frozen or canned drained
  • Optional Jalapeños - Sliced or minced
  • Optional tablespoon Brown sugar - Adds sweetness
  • Optional tablespoon Cocoa powder - Adds depth optional but recommended

Method
 

  1. Add raw beef, beans, tomatoes, onion, garlic, and spices.

  2. Pour in beef broth (or broth + beer), then stir everything.
