Ingredients
  

For the Chocolate Base:
  • ½ cup Unsalted butte - Melted for batter
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips - Or chopped chocolate
  • 3 Large eggs - Beaten
  • 1 ½ cups Granulated sugar - Sweetness for the chocolate base
  • ¾ cup All-purpose flour - Base for the batter
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla extract - For flavor
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt - To balance sweetness
For Serving:
  • 1 pint Vanilla ice cream - For serving with pie optional
  • ¼ cup Heavy cream - For whipping
  • ¼ cup Hot fudge sauce - Optional but adds extra richness

Equipment

  • 1 9-inch Pie Pan (Glass or metal works fine)
  • 1 Large mixing bowl (For mixing batter and beating eggs)
  • 1 Whisk or Electric Mixer (For mixing ingredients)
  • 1 Microwave-safe Bowl (For melting chocolate and butter)

  • 1 Rubber spatula (For scraping down sides of mixing bowls)

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven, grease pie pan, melt butter and chocolate, beat eggs.

  2. Add sugar to eggs, pour in chocolate mixture, add vanilla and salt, fold in flour.

  3. Pour batter into pie pan, bake for 25-30 minutes, cool for 10 minutes.
