  • 12 pieces Lasagna noodles - Boiled until bendable
  • 15 oz Ricotta cheese - Drained if watery
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese - Divided
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese - Grated
  • 1 large Egg - Mixed into ricotta
  • 2 cups Marinara sauce - Homemade or jarred
  • 2 cloves Garlic - Minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning - Adjust to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Salt - Or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Black pepper - Freshly ground
  • ¼ cup Fresh basil - Chopped optional garnish
  • Optional Mix-ins - Choose as desired:
  • 1 cup Frozen spinach - Thawed and squeezed dry
  • ½ lb Ground beef or sausage - Cooked and drained
  • ½ cup Mushrooms - Chopped and sautéed
  • ½ cup Bell peppers - Diced

Method
 

  1. Cook lasagna noodles until just soft but still firm, then lay flat to cool.
