Ingredients
  

  • 4–6 pieces Bone-in pork chops - Seasoned with salt pepper, garlic powder, paprika
  • 4 large Russet potatoes - Thinly sliced about ¼ inch thick
  • 3 tablespoon Butter - Cut into small pieces
  • 1 ½ cups Milk or heavy cream - Just enough to barely cover potatoes
  • 1 medium Onion - Diced
  • 1 teaspoon Salt - Adjust to taste
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) Cream of mushroom soup - Or cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese - Or Swiss mozzarella, or your choice
  • ½ teaspoon Paprika - For topping
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh thyme or dried herbs - Optional garnish

Equipment

  • 1 9x13 baking dish (Glass or ceramic preferred)
  • 1 Sharp knife (For slicing potatoes and onion)
  • 1 Cutting board
  • 1 set Measuring cups
  • 1 roll Aluminum foil (For covering during baking)

Method
 

  1. Heat oven, slice potatoes, season pork, dice onion, grease dish.
    Raw pork chops seasoned on cutting board, diced onions in bowl, sliced potatoes in greased baking pan.
  2. Add potatoes with butter, onion, salt, pour milk.
    Sliced potatoes arranged in baking dish with diced onions and shredded cheese, milk being poured over.
  3. Place pork chops, top with soup, sprinkle paprika, cover.
