Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups Bread flour - Use bread flour not all-purpose
  • 2 ¼ teaspoon Active dry yeast - 1 standard packet
  • 1 cup Whole milk - Warmed to body temperature
  • 4 tablespoon Butter - Softened
  • 2 Eggs - Room temperature
  • ¼ cup Sugar - Granulated
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 8 oz Cream cheese - Full-fat softened (for filling)
  • ¼ cup Sugar - For cream cheese filling
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups Fresh strawberries - Diced
  • ¼ cup Brown sugar - Tossed with strawberries
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch - Helps thicken strawberry mixture
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice - Tossed with strawberries
  • 4 oz Cream cheese - For glaze softened
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar - For glaze
  • 3 tablespoon Heavy cream - For glaze
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract - For glaze

Equipment

  • 1 Stand mixer with dough hook (Hand kneading works, but takes ~15 minutes)
  • 1 9x13 inch baking dish (Buttered before baking)
  • 1 Sharp knife OR dental floss (Floss makes clean cuts)
  • 2 Large mixing bowls (For dough + fillings)
  • 1 Set (Measuring cups & spoons)
  • 2 Clean kitchen towels (To cover dough during rises)

Method
 

  1. Mix warm milk, yeast, flour, sugar, eggs, and butter until smooth dough forms.
    Baking bowl filled with flour and three cracked eggs in the center, ready to be mixed into dough.
  2. Place dough in greased bowl, cover, and let it double in size for one hour.
    Risen dough in a bowl, soft and airy, covered partially with a cloth, sprinkled lightly with flour.
  3. Beat cream cheese with sugar and vanilla, then prepare strawberries with sugar, cornstarch, and lemon.
    Mixing bowl with whipped cream cheese, sugar, and diced strawberries coated in sugar, forming the filling mixture.
  4. Roll dough flat, spread cream cheese, add strawberries, roll tightly, and slice into 12 pieces.

  5. Let rolls rise again, bake until golden, then top with smooth cream cheese glaze.
