For the Rice:
  • 1 cup white rice - Or brown rice
  • 2 cups water - Or chicken broth
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice - Optional for flavor

For the Meat:
  • 1 lb ground beef - Or ground turkey/chicken
  • 1 packpack taco seasoning - Or 2 tablespoon homemade seasoning
  • ¼ cup water - To mix with seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder - Optional
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder - Optional
  • salt - To taste
Toppings(Pick and Choose):
  • ½ cup shredded cheese - Cheddar or Mexican blend
  • ½ cup sour cream - Or Greek yogurt
  • ½ cup salsa - Or pico de gallo
  • ½ cup diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup shredded lettuce
  • ¼ cup sliced jalapeños - Fresh or pickled
  • ½ cup black beans - Canned drained
  • ½ cup corn - Canned or frozen thawed
  • 1 avocado - Or guacamole
  • hot sauce - To taste

Equipment

Method
 

  1. Cook the rice in water or broth, season with salt, simmer, then fluff and finish with lime.
